How it all started

This endeavor began with the vision of Robert M. Thorstenson, founder of Icicle Seafoods Corporation, who devoted enormous energy and influence toward the goal of documenting the history of the industry he loved.

His vision was implemented by writer and videographer John Sabella with whom he produced the Alaska History Series of documentary movies that chronicled the fascinating history of Alaska commercial fishing, and now by his son, Robert Thorstenson, Jr.
